Maccabeats Tickets!

Tickets for the Maccabeats Concert are now available!

The show will be September 21st at 6pm in the UAlbany Performing Arts Center.  Click the link above to purchase/reserve tickets.

Tickets are free for UAlbany students and $5 in advance/$10 at the door for community members.

Reserving tickets in advance is recommended as the show will likely sell out.

The Maccabeats are the premier Jewish A Capella group in the world.  They have toured extensively and have been featured on many TV shows.

Birthright Summer Trip Registration opens Feb. 13!

UAlbany Hillel will again be running a summer Birthright trip to Israel. This is an amazing FREE 10-day trip….don’t pass it up! To register for our trip follow these instructions:
1. click here and click “register now”

2. create an account

3. Choose IsraelExperts as your “trip organizer”

4. As you go through the application you need the following info: IsraelExperts is your “trip organizer”, May Campus Connection is your “trip selection”, and Albany28 is your “referral code”

5.  Within 48 hours you will receive an email from Israel Experts.  Make sure that you click the link and complete your application!  It is at that point that you will specifically pick the UAlbany trip.

Hillel Students Rock Out for a Local Charity

UAlbany’s Hillel students are coming together on Thursday, November 8th, to rock out and raise money for a local charity, The Friendship Circle.  The Capital District Friendship Circle offers support to families who have children with special needs, as well as anyone struggling in the Capital District.  According to The Friendship Circle’s mission statement, a majority of the Friendship Circle volunteers are teenagers, and through their volunteering they “reap the vast rewards of giving of themselves.”  The Hillel students’ Rock Cafe fundraiser will offer UAlbany’s top musical talents, snacks, and amazing raffles.

World of Jewish Life & Culture Living-Learning Community

Hillel and Judaic Studies are running one of the University’s Living-Learning Communities! Live on a floor with other people interested in Jewish culture, take a Judaic Studies class together, participate in special programming and community service projects and live in a newly renovated dorm! Passover Food Info

During the intermediate days of Passover, kosher for Passover food will be available in Dutch Quad dining hall via the Kosher food line.  Beginning Thursday evening there will be meals at Shabbos House through Saturday lunch.

Are you going to be on campus for Passover?  Shabbos House will be running seders for anyone who is staying in town.  Please contact them to RSVP or for more information.  All holiday meals at the end of Passover will also be hosted at Shabbos House.
