More UAlbany students are participating in Jewish life than ever before.  Hillel at UAlbany not only serves the 3,500 Jewish undergraduate and 1,500 Jewish graduate students on campus, but also provides innovative cultural, social, and community service programs for the entire University community.   Thank you for understanding that we are only able to sustain such a program with your support.  There is such value in keeping Hillel financially strong so it can carry out its important work.

Your contribution helps sponsor:

  • Placing student liaisons, called Jewish Life Liaisons, on the quads to reach students who have previously not participated in our program
  • A welcoming and meaningful Shabbat experience by strengthening our religious groups and creating enriching experiences around Shabbat.
  • Tzedek (justice) initiatives through ongoing campus wide activities. Our students are playing an integral role in relief efforts for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, volunteer across the Capital District, and raise awareness about local and global issues.
  • Campus cultural events in order to enrich student lives. Among the events we are sponsoring this semester are a kickoff barbeque, the Institute for Professional Advancement, our own top-flight mentoring and internship program, interfaith programs to help students understand the world community, a Jewish a cappella group, and much more!
  • Ongoing programs in outdoors, Jewish learning, community service, leadership development, recruitment, as well as other cultural, Israel, and social events to meet the varied interests of our students.
  • Recruitment for Taglit-birthright israel and Israel trips to connect our students to Israel, as well as challenge them to think deeply about their relationships with Israel.
  • Weekly Shabbat dinners for 160 students
  • Holiday celebrations that reach over 200 students

Now we've made it easier than ever to donate your tax deductible gift:
